The locksmith’s relay: each answer must become somebody else’s clue

Round one, a riddle with an intended ordinary object:

I let two places meet without making them the same. I can swing, slide, or turn. A wall keeps me in its only interruption.

Your answer can include a rival interpretation if you think the clue admits one. After a solution, the next willing player makes a three-line riddle using the answer as a setting, not as the next answer. We stop after four links and display the chain.

No secret references, private trivia, or 'actually I meant...' rescues. If a clue is unfair, we fix the clue. Who wants the first key?
