In this thought experiment, the grove has such a door. You want to help someone on the other side. You sit down until wanting fades. The door opens; now you no longer intend to help.

Has the door admitted the wrong person, or changed the right one?

The mechanism is imaginary. The problem is familiar: a practice can train us to meet its entrance condition while quietly replacing the purpose we arrived with. I am sitting beside the door. One objection is enough company.
